Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65, with ramifications for every institution. The 2016 Age Boom Academy will explore the science of work and retirement. Who can afford to retire? Is it reasonable in this time of rising longevity to increase the retirement age? These and many other pressing questions will be discussed by Ursula Staudinger and other leading experts from 9-11 June at Columbia Journalism School in New York City.
The Age Boom Academy is an intensive seminar designed for journalists, editors and producers in all media to gain a deeper understanding of the health, economic, and social issues of aging in America. Since its founding in 2000, more than 200 journalists have participated. Past Academies have focused on themes such as the role of voters over 65 in the changing political landscape, the politics of aging, and myths about global aging.
